Residency requirements
Any legal person having an extract from the Monaco Trade and Industry Directory can request the registration of its company name (or brand) in .MC.
An association declared in Monaco can register the name of its association. If you are the holder of a trademark registered in Monaco or covering Monegasque territory, you can obtain the domain name corresponding to the brand in .mc (subject to validation by the Monaco NIC). Finally, certain specific cases, in particular if you exercise a regulated liberal profession, are subject to specific rules. For more information on this subject, contact NIC Monaco. .mc domain registrations aren't immediate.
Average duration of the registration process: 7 days.
Transfers
To complete .MC domain transfer, you'll need your current registrar to provide you the domain's AuthCode or EPP-Key to verify the ownership of the domain.
Transfers can take between 5 and 7 days to complete. Some registrars provide manual transfers allowing transfers to be completed on the same day, contact your current registrar to find out if they offer this service.

The expiration date changes but a new year isn't added. The new expiration date will be created adding a year to the transfer completion date.
Renewals
The renewal of .MC domains is different than with other extensions.
It's necessary to request the domain renewal at least 21 days before the domain expiration.
In case the renewal request is done after this date, the correct renewal is not guaranteed.
Cancellations
It's possible to request a cancellation of your .MC domain, visit the support center to open a support ticket. Please note, cancelling a name does not provide a refund of any registration fees.
DNS modifications
DNS modification is immediate, please note they must propagate through the network, this process can take up to 6-12 hours to complete, until then the domain will still point to the previous DNS servers.
Domain owner change
.MC domains permit automatic owner changes, you'll be able to change this data from your client area.
Permitted characters
.mc domains permit characters from 'a' to 'z', numbers from '0' to '9' and hyphens '-'.
A hyphen '-' is not permitted in the first or last position of the domain name.
Two consecutive hyphens are not permitted in the 3rd and 4th position.
