How do I configure mail accounts in Windows Live Mail?
Windows Live Mail is the Outlook Express replacement electronic mail client. This program is pre-installed in the Windows Vista operating system, although it can also be used on other Windows operating systems by downloading it, freely, at http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview
To configure your mail accounts in Windows Live Mail, follow these steps:
- Open Windows Live Mail
- Go to the Tools” menu > ”Accounts.
Click on Add” > “Email account
Enter the following details:
Electronic mail: email of the account you are configuring (of the myaccount@mydomain.com type)
- Password: the account password
- Name to appear: Your name
You must check the manually define the server configuration” option
Enter the following details:
Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.yourdomain.com
- You must not check receive via secure connection
- You must check that the outgoing mail server requires authentication
Once you have followed these steps the mail account will function correctly.
